I have practised as a Loss Assessor for thirty years. I am authorised and regulated by the FCA. I have a BSc in Urban Estate Management, which is a surveying and valuation degree, and should I have wished to be a charted surveyor, this would have exempted me from the exams at the time. I previously studied at Manchester University for one year in accountancy and economic/social studies, which I passed, but did not wish to pursue this career. Obviously this gave me a basic knowledge to assist claimants with Business Interruption claims.
I handle all sizes of claims in the domestic and the commercial sector. I am happy to speak to any claimant, anywhere in the country, as I have been doing if other assessors feel the matter is too small for them to handle. I do not mind smaller complex claims.
Should party wall issues or dilapidation schedules, in relation to claims be required, I can deal with these but usually in tandem with other professionals. Other claims I refer to our solicitors, or difficult liability issues.
